Adobe PDF – files should be saved as press/high resolution (300 dpi minimum); embed all fonts and images, include bleed but do not add crop marks, use CMYK* color mode for all swatches (no spot colors unless otherwise specified)

Adobe Illustrator – through version CS3. All fonts should be outlines, embed all images, use CMYK* color mode for all swatches (no spot colors unless otherwise specified)

Adobe Photoshop – through version CS3. Files should be at 300 dpi resolution and in CMYK* color mode

Adobe InDesign – through version CS3. Collect and include all fonts and art/photos used – fonts must be MAC Postscript or Type 1 (no true type fonts)

EPS, TIF, JPG – resolution should be minimum of 300 dpi when image is at 100% size, CMYK* color mode

* Create and submit design files in CMYK color mode. Most software programs offer the choice of working in RGB color or CMYK color. RGB color mode utilizes Red, Green, and Blue to create the palette of colors. RGB is used for web graphics and is how computer monitors display colors. CMYK uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black to create the printing palette of colors. CMYK is often referred to as Full Color or 4 color and is used by printing equipment and presses. Design files created in RGB must be converted to CMYK before printing which can result in an undesirable color shift.

We CANNOT ACCEPT:
Film, Adobe Pagemaker, Microsoft Programs: Word, PowerPoint or Publisher (you may send text in Microsoft programs, but we cannot print projects created in these programs).

Submitting Your Files:
If customer is sending print-ready file, we prefer a PDF.  Adobe PDF – files should be saved as press/high resolution (300 dpi minimum); embed all fonts and images, include bleed but do not add crop marks, use CMYK* color mode for all swatches (no spot colors unless otherwise specified)

Setting up your files:  Please see diagrams.

Margins: 1/8” (.125) minimum, set margins larger if possible.

Safe Zone:  All text and important design elements should be at least 1/8" (.125 inches) from the finished edge of the piece.

Bleed: 1/8” (.125) minimum, set bleeds to 1/4” if possible on all four sides to ensure that your design will still cover completely to the edge of the piece (no white paper stock showing) after cutting process. (PDF: Please save your pdf to include bleed, but do not add crop marks.)

Image Resolution: 300 dpi/ppi minimum.  Using resolutions less than 300 dpi (dots per inch) will result in reduced print quality.

Illustrator .ai, .eps (Vector Art):  All text must be outlines. Embed all images.

Photoshop .psd, .tiff, .eps, (Raster Art):  Before sending your file, flatten all layers. This prevents font defaults and image shifting. This also creates a smaller file size. Suggestion: SAVE A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL FILE BEFORE FLATTENING! You may want to go back to it and make changes later.

Color Mode: CMYK or Grayscale.  Most jobs will be CMYK or Black only (grayscale). Spot colors may be used if specified in your project quote.
